Bloom of Youth is episode 52b of Edward and Eric. It premiered on Kids' WB on December 14, 2002.

Edward creates an invention that will turn Old Man Esmond back into a child. Unfortunately, the chemicals in the gadget turns him into a baby, and when the chemicals turn the rest of Lakeside into babies, he must find an antidote before it's too late.

Eric makes a silent cameo appearance.

  • This episode was available on the An Onix-pected Adventure DVD and the Season 3 Volume 2 box set before it officially aired on television.
  • This was the last season 3 episode in terms of premiere order, and it was also the last segment to premiere in general before the movie released in theaters.
    • Because of this delay, this episode has the longest gap ever between production and airing time.
      • If the movie really did serve as the series finale just like how it was supposed to, this would've been the last episode in premiere order, which means everybody in Lakeside would've been stuck as infants forever (with Eric, more likely than not, dead).
  • This episode premiered in Germany on June 26, 2001, which was a year before it did in the United States. It also premiered in Latin America on October 7, 2000.
  • This segment premiered during the Kids' WB Holiday Sock Party in 2002.
  • Some TV guides list this segment as the last episode of season 4, while others list this as the premiere for season 5.
  • This is one of the few episodes that has a live-action title card.
    • The title card for this segment has saliva and chunks of already-eaten baby food on a floor, with the episode's title in front of it.
  • In a 2018 interview, Sauls revealed that this episode was delayed for 2 years because Warner Bros. executives thought that its sister episode was "too scary" for young audiences.
  • When this episode finally premiered, it aired before Dog Trouble instead of after it like usual.
