This morning, on July 20, 2017, Chester Bennington, known worldwide as the frontman of Linkin Park and Dead by Sunrise, was found dead in his home at Palos Verdes Estates, California. Bennington was 41. One thing I remembered when I first heard this news was a long post Bennington wrote on Twitter after learning of Chris Cornell's death two months earlier. After this, I realized that when Chester said "I can't imagine a world without you in it", he must have truly meant it. Chester and Linkin Park were perhaps the most successful nu metal band in history, and Chester was recognized as being the voice of an entire generation of young people. It pains me to have to write this post at all, and Chester's death is a very important lesson to the whole world: suicide does not get rid of the pain. It just transfers it to others.
RIP Chester Bennington
